Gene Interactions
About the Course
This course aims to provide a specific understanding of how parts of our genetic code become our physical characteristics. The course will include an introduction to Mendelian Genetics and basic gene expression but will focus mainly on deviations from the standard Mendelian inheritance patterns. Students will learn about the implications of genetic pathways and the mechanics of interactions such as epistasis, complementation, suppression, and duplication. This course allows students to better understand factors beyond our genetic code that control the expression of genes, highlighting the science behind how we become who we are.
